The worksheet comparison report describes how cells on the selected worksheets differ. Only cells in the rows and columns that are common to both worksheets are considered.
Each row on the report contains two cell references (one each for worksheet 1 and worksheet 2) and each cell's value* and associated formula*. The two cell references show which two cells are being compared. Only values and formulas that differ are shown on the report.
Each cell reference that is listed on the report is hyperlinked. All hyperlinks are linked to the copies of worksheet 1 and worksheet 2 rather than to the original worksheets. If you click on a hyperlink then Excel will jump to the appropriate cell.
* Only if the associated output option is selected when Worksheet Compare is run.
Note:
There are two types of value - inputs and results. Inputs are values that have been entered directly into cells. Results are values that have been calculated by an underlying formula. These two types of value are distinguished on the report by a preceding "I" and "R" (input and result respectively).
