Understanding the AdvancedSearch Reports

AdvancedSearch produces a report every time you do a search. It contains the following information:

  • Text to find
  • Settings - a list of the options used by AdvancedSearch to search for matching text
  • Workbook - the name of the workbook in which matching text has been found
  • Worksheet - the name of the worksheet on which matching text has been found
  • Cell/Name - the location of the matching text (either a cell reference or defined name)
  • Type - type of item in which matching text has been found (either "cell value", "formula", ""comment", "worksheet name", "worksheet name definition", "non-worksheet name", "non-worksheet name definition")
  • Contents - the text matching the search criteria

Double Click Feature
If you double click on any cell reference in the "Cell/Name" column then you will jump to that cell. To return to the original cell, click on the go back button located on the UltraSleuth toolbar.

Please read the following if you experience problems with the double click feature:

Log
In addition to the report, AdvancedSearch logs its actions during each search. This is useful if you want a permanent record of what was searched and when the searched was performed.
