What's the best way to soothe your own morning crankiness? For Martha Hunt, model and self-claimed "not a big morning person," it's making matcha.

"Most likely, I'm rushing after snoozing my alarm a bunch and I'll go make a matcha," she says in our latest episode of Food Diaries, during which she walks us through her breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all the snacks in between. "I'll make a matcha almond latte, which is matcha mixed with almond milk. I'll probably have something light, because I'm usually in a hurry, so I'll do something like a toasted English muffin with almond butter on it. And if I'm feeling really decadent, then I'll add this almond butter that's called Jem Cinnamon Maca Almond Butter. And that stuff is crack. It is so good."

For lunch, Hunt heads to New York City's Le Botaniste, where she orders its plant-based vegan chili. "It's really hearty," she says of the dish, which includes brown rice, beans, and quinoa. "It's all plant based, but I end up mixing in a lot of white cheddar so that sort of defeats the point of it being vegan. I think that it's a really good substantial lunch to keep me going throughout the day."

For her early evening snack, the model craves something salty. "So at some point in my day, I'm probably having a cheese board," she says. "And, if that's not available to me, then I'll have hummus or olives to satisfy that need for salt. I just love salt."
