Kalen Allen has a lot on his plate. The popular YouTuber, known for his hilarious reaction videos to audacious recipes, makes his feature film acting debut in An American Pickle, a comedy costarring Seth Rogen, Sarah Snook, and Molly Evensen, now streaming on HBO Max.

In this episode of Food Diaries, Allen takes us through an entire day of his favorite eats, beginning with his "early bird" tendencies. Allen says that he always starts his day at 6:30 a.m. "I like to be up, and I like to be refreshed," he says.

Before feeding himself, Allen feeds his dog, Carter. "It's more so what does Carter eat today, because he's the first one to be fed." After taking Carter for a walk, Allen gulps down an energy drink, and then prepares for his morning workout, a fitness routine that includes biking for about half an hour.

Finally, it's time for breakfast. His first meal of the day consists of an egg-and-turkey-bacon base. "The eggs are very specific," Allen says. "I scramble my eggs in a mug." He whisks in sea salt and cracked pepper, and fries the turkey bacon.

"If you want some good eggs, you got to cook your meat first, and then you add the eggs," he advises. "Baby, that flavor mixed up together—unlike anything else. Thank me later."
