According to celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin, one of summer 2023’s makeup trends is undoubtedly no-brow eyebrows. Kylie Jenner paired hers with an icy blonde wig for fashion campaign images as the new face of Jean Paul Gaultier.

As an added beauty bonus, you don't necessarily have to bleach your brows to channel this summer makeup trend. At the Versace 2023 Spring/Summer runway show, supermodel Bella Hadid wore a lightly tinted brow down the runway.

Barely There Brows

“I love this because it adds a strength to the eyes, allowing your eye makeup to be the focus,” Martin tells BAZAAR.com. “Eyebrows create a framework in the region of the face where getting rid of it opens that space up to really see makeup and color on the lips more vividly.” On singer Shygirl, celebrity makeup artist Raisa Flowers leaned into the trend, pairing a bold, pigmented eye and nude lip with her bleach blonde brows.

If you're just looking to test the waters of this buzzy trend, Martin suggests rubbing white eyeliner onto a disposable mascara spoolie and brushing it over your brows. He swears by NYX's Professional Retractable Eye Liner to cancel out the color of your natural hairs. “This will look white, but once you take foundation over the hair, it cancels out the color while still keeping your brow shape intact,” he adds.

Effortlessly dewy skin is something many of us aspire to have, which makes it even more beneficial that the look is trending for summer 2023. “It isn’t a new trend, but advanced technologies in skincare and new makeup innovations make it more easily achievable for those who aren’t into makeup," Martin says.

While models walking the Proenza Schouler Spring/Summer 2023 show took their glow factor up a few notches, their minimal makeup looks placed an emphasis on hydrated, luminous skin.

Subtle Sculpt

The no makeup-makeup look has evolved to something a bit more defined. According to celebrity makeup artist and founder of Danessa Myricks Beauty, Danessa Myricks, sculpted skin is in. “Naturally snatched, no makeup makeup look, where features are shaped and accentuated while using the most natural highlight and contour techniques, is very popular right now," she tells BAZAAR.com.

Our editors love using this popular bronzing cream from Chanel, which is why we've named it one of the most iconic beauty products. Since its formula dries down to semi-matte, it's easy to get that bronzy, sun-kissed look with just a few swipes.

Weird Lips

Bolder, unexpected lip colors are trending for summer 2023, like this slate gray shade seen on Lizzo during a recent tour performance. A popular makeup style known as Weird Girl Lipstick, no shade—no matter how vibrant or pigmented —is "off limits" this season.
