UltraSleuth's Worksheet Compare offers a highly intelligent Excel workbook comparison feature that makes comparing Excel files a breeze. Some Excel comparison tools compare differences between two excel worksheets on a cell by cell basis. In other words, if a cell is inserted or deleted, this could lead to potentially tens to hundreds of changes being flagged. Other workbook comparison tools force you go through one or more steps to mark up your spreadsheet with dummy cells to align the worksheets before a comparison can be made.

Comparing Worksheets is simple. Open the Worksheet Compare dialog box. Select the worksheets you wish to compare, set the options and click OK.

Set the comparison method to database if you wish to compare excel databases with a unique key in one of the columns, auto if you wish to automatically adjust for inserted or deleted cells, rows or columns and identity if you wish to make a cell by cell comparison.
The comparison can be constrained to include only changes to cell values, data or formulas or a combination of these.

Excel comparisons results are presented in a convenient report. The summary page (fig. 2) presents the comparison criteria, details of the worksheets being compared and a summary of the changes. Copies of the worksheets being compared are also included with the changes appropriately highlighted (fig. 3 & 4 below). You can navigate from the summary page to the visual changes by clicking on the links in the summary page.
